The Projects:
Each student presented a poster and a 15 minute talk on what they did over the summer.
Danielle's project was with Dr. Shelia M. Kennison. She presented
"Learning Second Language Vocabulary".
Mia's project was with Dr. Charles I. Abramson. She presented
"Light Levels in Classrooms at the Federal University of Paraiba at Bananeiras
(UFPB) in Northeastern Brazil".
Waylon's project was also with Dr. Charles I. Abramson. He
presented "The Price of Alcohol in Relation to Basic Food Group Items in
Northeastern Brazil". Waylon and Mia also gave a joint presentation
on "What is the Value of the International Component of the REU Experience"
which reflected on their travel to Brazil for the summer (not pictured).
Phil's project was with Dr. David G. Thomas. He presented "The
Effects of Clock Alteration on Time Estimations and Heart Rate".
April's project was also with Dr. David G. Thomas. She presented
"Can Women Perform Better?: An Examination of Stereotype Threat".
Cora's project was with Dr. Douglas A. Hershey. She presented
"Biases in Perceptions of Expected Longevity".
Jessica's project was also with Dr. Douglas A. Hershey. She
presented "Biases in Perceptions of Retirement Savings Relative to Peers".
Stephanie's project was with Dr. Amanda K. Harrist. She presented
"Parental Responsivity and Child Social Competence: Exploring Possible
Links".
Katie's project was with Dr. Deborah J. Norris. She presented
