The Projects:

Each student presented a poster and a 15 minute talk on what they did over the summer. 

 
Stephanie's project was with Dr. Shelia M. Kennison.  She presented "Gender Differences as predictors of prayer behavior".
 
 
  
Audrea's project was with Dr. Laura Hubbs-Tait.  She presented "Predictive factors involved in the discrepancy between teacher's and children's perceived cognitive competence". Psi Chi student award winner.

  
Jacqueline's project was with Dr. Brandt Gardener. She presented "Predictive patterns: The dynamics of affect and attachment in marital interactions".

  
Carina's project was with Dr. Melanie Page.  She presented "Teeacher perceptions of students with internalizing disorders: The effects of student gender".

  
Kelly's project was also with Dr. Page.  She presented "Don't take it personally? Social and cognitive correlates of body image in college women". 

 
 
Mandy's project was also with Dr. Page.  She presented "Cultural differences in emotional intelligence". Psi Chi award student.

  

  
CJ's project was also with Dr. Page (are we seeing a pattern or a very tired advisor here?!).  He presented "An analysis of the relationship between beauty practices, self-efficacy, ethnic identity, perceived discrimination, Afrocentrism, and acculturation in women of African descent".

  

  Gary's project was also with Dr. Melanie Page.  He presented "teacher perceptions of overt and relational aggression: Differences in referrals for disciplinary action and emotional disturbance based on student gender".

 
   Alissa's project was also with Dr. Page.  She presented "The relationship between social competence and body image in college women".

 
  

Shane's project was with Dr. Steve Harrist.  He presented "Perceived social support as a moderating variable in the psychological and physiological outcomes of expressive writing".

 
 
 Valerie's project was also with Dr. Steve Harrist.  She presented "Academic performance, perceived self-efficacy, and linguistic markers of motivation in online expressive writing".

  

Darren's project was with Dr. David G. Thomas.  He presented "Effects of visual stimuli on speed and temporal perception". Psi Chi student award winner.

 

Melissa's project was with Dr. Carrie Winterowd. She presented "The relationship of peer attachment and anger in adolescents".

Maritza's project was with Dr. Charles Abramson. She presented "Citronella is not a repellant to Africanized honey bees".

Jordan's project was also with Dr. Abramson. He presented "The effects of organic insecticide on learning in Africanized honey bees in Brazil".

 

During the break the students looked at each other's posters. Everyone did a great job on their posters and they were most professional looking!
